Looking for something to do next weekend? From Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th July, Canary Wharf is having a spectacular four day arts festival packed with music, theatre, dance, comedy, poetry, workshops and children’s activities. The event will take place over 4 days across various parks, squares, plazas, bars and restaurants in Canary Wharf. The best part is the majority of the events are completely free to attend and there will of course be plenty of food options to keep you fueled throughout the day. There’s definitely something for everyone!

Looking for an outdoor activity to do with kids during the school summer holidays? This year, The Garden Museum’s summer exhibition will celebrate Frances Hodgson Burnett’s beloved classic children's book The Secret Garden. The exhibition will allow you to embrace the healing power of gardens, discover the true story of Burnett's real secret garden which inspired the book, and explore different artists' illustrations of the past hundred years which have brought life to the story. The Secret Garden exhibition will feature interactive games for children to learn about plants, animals and inspire the little ones to have a go at gardening. The exhibition is free for all kids under the age of 18, and will be running from the 6th July to the 4th September.

Where the Crawdads Sing (2022)

Produced by Reese Witherspoon and starring Daisy Edgar Jones, this promising book to screen adaptation follows the story of Kya, who, abandoned as a girl in the early 1950’s, had to raise herself in the dangerous marshlands of North Carolina, and then learn how to open herself up to a new and startling world. Combining murder mystery with romance and a sense of life in the natural world, Where the Crawdads Sing is based on the bestselling 2018 novel by Delia Owens. The film will be released in cinemas on 22nd July 2022.
